Acupuncture is one form of treatment modality of Oriental Medicine. It consists of the insertion of thin, sterilized and disposable needles inserted into precise points along meridians of the body.
These points are associated with channels of the body mapped out over 3,000 years ago.
Acupuncture is based on the theory that pathways run through the body carrying energy called Qi and other nutrients such as blood and other nutrients. When the substances are flowing properly in the meridians or channels, we have balance in our physical body as well as emotional health and spiritual well being.
Western medicine research has found that acupuncture affects the nervous system and brain by releasing neurotransmitters such as endorphins throughout the body. This helps regulate blood flow, body temperature, and immune function, while also having an analgesic effect on the body.
The experience of acupuncture varies for each person. There may be an initial sensation during the insertion of the needles. While the needles are in, some sensations include: dullness, heaviness, movement, mild itching, along with feelings of relaxation and calmness.
At the first session we will first briefly discuss your medical history, access health and emotional concerns. We will use diagnostic tools including palpation of the pulse along with tongue observation.
The acupuncture needle is very thin, in fact just slightly thicker than the human hair. Typically the insertion of a needle is painless, in some cases you may not even know a needle has been inserted. In other cases, there may be some heaviness, tingling, warmth, itching, and the feeling of movement around the insertion site. Most people find acupuncture relaxing and frequently fall asleep during the treatment. Most treatments can be done without undressing provided the patient is wearing comfortable clothing.
This depends on the nature, length, and severity of your complaint. Generally, patients begin to feel an emotional and physical shift after 3-4 treatments.
Anabelle Grigorescu first experienced acupuncture and herbal medicine as a patient. A life-changing series of acupuncture treatments, began a journey of healing which still continues to this day. The depth of this experience with Chinese Medicine led Anabelle to change career paths, and pursue a degree in Acupuncture.

I want to thank you and express my gratitude for your service. Your treatments help me tremendously with the pain and discomfort I experience from my pessary, which my doctor installed to help me with my bladder prolapse. I notice a huge a difference with the weekly acupuncture treatments you give, I have less urge to urinate, and I feel less pelvic pressure. Your service is invaluable and has helped me to resume living a normal life, and enjoy playing with my grandchildren. I have recommended you to all my friends.
As you know I have been a migraine sufferer for over 15 years and it has truly ruined my life. I have had to lock myself in my bedroom in the dark, where I have had to battle excruciating pain and nausea that would last for days. Since coming to your office for acupuncture, the migraines have become less frequent and last a shorter time. For the first time I feel hope, I pray with continued treatments they might stop. You are a very caring person and have a gentle touch. The treatments are very relaxing, and you have a very sweet voice. I thank you very much for helping me.
You are amazing! I can finally sleep! I have been battling insomnia for years as a result of my prescribed medication, prednisone that I can not live without. Rather than having to continue experimentation with various prescription sleep medication, I feel so relieved that there is one less pill that I need to take. You have helped me to sleep through the night with no problems. I have also noticed that I don't get colds as frequently since becoming your client. Another benefit from this great medicine. Thank you for doing what you do. Looking forward to the next treatment.
